The Disco Ball held at the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club benefiting the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund was the perfect excuse to take our gowns out for a night of dancing. Disco attire was encouraged with a black-tie optional invitation…
What does that mean exactly??? I know what you are thinking, “black-tie optional” usually has party goers balking to an RSVP right off the bat. Fret not my fancy lovelies! “Black-tie optional” broken down equals dark suits with ties finished with high-end accessories for the gentlemen. Ladies should opt for cocktail gowns from knee to floor length in chic fabrics and tones. A modern take could also be a glam jumpsuit or a tuxedo pant with a killer blouse (think high-neck, ruffled or runway couture) accompanied by a beaded clutch, luxe heels and eye-catching jewelry in beautiful taste.
Speaking of taste, the food provided for the gala was absolutely amazing from presentation to palette and paired with wines and cocktails of your choice from a wonderful open bar. The clock chimed 8 as guests ascended the spiral staircase to be received by a desert bar and coffees of choice, paralleling the banister. Disco tunes floated from the ballroom beckoning party goers to put on their boogie shoes. Off came the ties and on went the beats late into the evening in the best of company.
