Independence week marked the 31’st anniversary of Sarasota’s offshore racing festival, the Suncoast Powerboat Grand Prix. Events ran all week long complete with the boat parade on Friday night followed by 2 days of racing on July 4’th and 5’th. Speedboats and jet skis were ran on a course from New Pass at Lido Key all the way down to Siesta Key for qualifying rounds on Saturday and finals on Sunday to cap a weekend celebration! Locals and visitors were out in full force along the shoreline and fleets of vessels lined the horizon for 2 days of fun in the sun. Since I hadn’t ventured out to the races in a few years, I decided to attend in true patriotic, pinup style.  Hope you all enjoyed you weekend as much as I loved  spending the day in this flirty, ruffled number fitting for screen siren Esther Williams herself!  Thanks for stopping by!
